UPDATE, 22 October 2008

David and Chiva are taking a break from the Tour de Dog but are sure to plan another ride in the near future. A sincere thank you to all of you who helped David and Chiva in countless ways. The Tour de Dog would not be possible without your support. THANK YOU!

Pictures as Promised!

Camping next to a fresh water source

A Pacific Ocean Sunset with Chiva
The Lost Coast is the largest stretch of undeveloped beach in California
A massive, decomposing Sperm Whale

I kept Chiva away from this beached seal

Chiva enjoying earthquake country

I have lost 10 pounds on the trip thus far. Can you tell?

Pristine and remote beaches

Another spectacular Lost Coast sunset

Taking to paw and foot was a nice change of pace. When I returned to my bike, however, it felt like home.

Redwood forest is a sacred place

I visited an elementary school in Petrolia to share my trip with the students

Canine and human best friend for life

Spring time is an excellent time to visit the Lost Coast meadows

Another picture of the estimated 10 year old Sperm Whale that washed ashore

Dave and Pup,
I've just had a great time reading through your blogs from start to finish, enjoying the photos and imagining your route.
Look forward to reading of your daily exploits, and seeing your route between SF and LA, a beaut drive but even better cycle.
I know you've heard it before but truly an inspiration - it's not the same but I'll be hoiking out my old bike tomorrow and taking a ride around Sydney harbour just to pretend I'm on my way around the world...

Take care you two, and meanwhile I'll try to muster up some donations from ex DLC peoples.

Cheerio,
Jeremy
