Bison can sometimes weigh more than 2000 pounds. Each year a few visitors of Yellowstone National Park get too close to these wild animals and are charged. At least 25 yards is the suggested distance to maintain between bison. While we were in Yellowstone, a 12 year old boy approached a buffalo and was flipped ten feet into the air.
