David and Chiva are taking a break from the Tour de Dog but are sure to plan another ride in the near future. A sincere thank you to all of you who helped David and Chiva in countless ways. The Tour de Dog would not be possible without your support. THANK YOU!

Canada, Eh?

Singing "Oh Canada"

Chiva and I have taken to Ontario to learn about animal shelters and animal control in Canada. After taking the Trans-Canada Highway for a couple days, we are heading south to Toronto, where we will be spending a few days. Everything is going well, and we continue to maximize the Tour de Dog with the incredible help of Denice.

I have been very fortunate to have had Jason Houge accompany the Tour de Dog for nearly two weeks. His determination to photograph each and every moment has produced many outstanding pictures. Besides his excellent pictures, Jason has given me many ideas and is now a great friend. Thank you Jason for taking the time to photograph the Tour de Dog!

Happy Birthday - I think in dog years that makes Chiva an adult. Party safely.

Are you aware of Ontario`s Bill 132?
More than 4000 innocent dogs killed since Nov 27,2005 by our Provincial Gov`t.
Hope no one claims that Chiva is substantially similar to the 3 Banned Pure Breeds or that Chiva behaved in a menacing manner.
That`s not defined. It could mean barking.
Ontario is very unsafe for dogs.
Please be very cautious and very aware until you are safely out of the Province with your dog.
No dog is safe in Ontario.

A dog described by a renowned CKC Judge in a Court of Law as "a mongrel most resembling a field Labrador" was put to death for being called a pit bull by a Shelter worker.
This dog at the link below was considered an Ontario pit bull
